Maneuvering the healthcare system is a challenge for the majority of people. The Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA) said that “over 80 million U.S. adults have trouble understanding information from their healthcare provider.” This inequity can lead to decreased preventative care visits and lack of understanding in diagnosis and / or medication management, which leads to increased hospitalizations and healthcare costs.
If you are looking to help stop the health inequities within your community, reach out today. We offer the opportunity to train as a Health Literacy Specialist from a nationally accredited program with the Institute for Healthcare Advancement (IHA). The self-paced, online course provides digital badging, a certificate of completion, and up to 49 continuing education credits through 50 lessons across 7 critical health literacy areas. With this certificate you will be on the path to helping your neighbors, friends, and family experience the healthcare and lifestyle they deserve.
There is a wait list for all future trainings. Training dates/times are subject to change based on availability.
